NOTICE WHAT CAUSES THIS ACCIDENT?
ROSEVILLE, Calif. – A driver whose SUV plunged into a Northern California creek after he was startled by his hands-free cell phone device escaped the sinking vehicle by blasting out the window with a handgun. The 28-year-old man, whose name wasn't immediately available, is an armed security guard at Thunder Valley Casino, north of Sacramento. He sustained minor injuries in Sunday's accident.
A spokesman for the Roseville Fire Department said the man was traveling northbound on Industrial Avenue in Roseville when the cell phone device activated. The driver was startled and veered off the road through the guardrail. The SUV landed in Pleasant Grove Creek.
He used his gun to shoot himself out, then flagged down a passerby.

I think that was a good thing then that he had his gun on him and was able to remember that instead of letting fear take over, I dont think he should use the cell phone device no more though.
ReplyDeleteStartled by his hands-free cell phone device? Wow, I guess this security guard isn't fearless after all. Imagine if his cell phone startled him in the casino while working? I wonder what he would do then. HAHA.
ReplyDeletecrazy how a hands-free cell phone device can scare a man to the extent to want to go down the river. what has our world come to if people are scared of a harmless cell phone device rather than being scared of using a gun..
ReplyDeleteI would definetly have to go with Mark on that one. I don't believe he was startled by his cell phone guys. He's just lucky he was able to get out of there before drowning or something.
ReplyDeleteWhat was his ringtone!? That's what I want to know....
ReplyDeleteIt is hard to believe how a hands free device startled the security officer, and he's suppose to be prepared for the worst, Imagine if he had gotten startled while driving in a street full of people.
ReplyDeleteWhat has this world come to? A hands free cell phone device scaring a man! That's hard to believe. What if this man is around the job and has his gun in hand and someone else's phone goes off.
ReplyDeleteWOW... I can't believe that this guy was startled by his hands free device! At least he saved himself by using his gun.
ReplyDeleteI have a hard time believing this man was startled by a hands-free cell phone device, seeing that they are prety common right now. Unless he had just bought it. Its pretty ironic considering that those things were made to help us drive safer.
ReplyDeleteThat is understandable...I guess. If someone forgot that his or her hands free cell device thingy was activated I could see them being stardled by a call...I would...but not to the part of driving into a creek. I think all that matters is that he got out safe and survived. It was smart of him to use his shot gun...I dont have a shotgun but I have this hammer thing just in case I end up driving into a creek or something.
ReplyDeleteLogically this man had one question on his mind... can you hear me now? what about now in the creek?... good!(verison commercial) many people have the necesity to answer there phone the instent they recive a call or txt however (we) drivers don't really realize how implicably dangerous the road really is. this man did have someting in mind and i dont really think it was a verizon commercial but in the most simplest human reaction was how to stay alive.
ReplyDeleteIt is wierd how a cell phone can startled someone when its a hand free device.I would never have the guts to shoot myself in the leg because I think that would hurt very bad. shooting himself was a very brave move.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what his ringtone was, That could startle a man enough to cause a car accident?
